You provide patients with knowledge about our practice; schedule their appointments; obtain their insurance coverage; and gather their payment. Whether it be through warmth, compassion, attitude, or enthusiasm, you contribute in some way to make the patient experience better. The fully functioning Medical Receptionist will be skilled in: Responsibilities
  • Greeting patients and visitors, answering their questions or directing them to the proper staff member.
  • Check in/check out
  • Making appointments for patients and keeping track of schedules
  • Schedule follow up appointments for patients
  • Schedule patients with other doctors and testing
  • Collecting patients' copays, deductibles and prior balances
  • Insurance verification
  • Daily cash reconciliation
  • Bank deposits
  • Training new staff members
  • Ensuring the reception area is clean and organized
  • Assisting with other administrative tasks as needed Other Responsibilities
  • Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
  • Respects cultural and religious practices of patients
  • Upholds HIPAA regulations
  • Punctual and dependent on assigned/confirmed shifts Qualifications
  • Experience with direct patient care 1-3 year minimum
  • Excellent communication and people skills, and a pleasant demeanor
  • Able to read and write consistent with job requirements; cognitive skills as related to the position
  • Time management skills
  • Multitasking Working Conditions
  • Medical receptionists will frequently stand, walk, sit, handle papers (grip, feel and moving) throughout the day.
They will rarely be required to lift, push, pull or move anything physically.

From $18.00 per hour
