Rochester Montessori School - Rochester, MN Rochester Montessori School, founded in 1967, is seeking a warm, professional, and highly organized half-time Receptionist/Office Assistant to join our administrative team. This role serves as the welcoming presence at the front desk and works closely with the Office Manager and school leadership to ensure smooth daily operations. Schedule Monday - Friday, 7:30 - 1:30 PM Year-long position (school holidays observed) This position is currently part-time, with the potential to transition to a full-time role Primary Responsibilities Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional and friendly manner Greet, screen, and assist visitors while maintaining school safety procedures Monitor building entry and manage visitor sign-in protocols Support student dismissal processes and attendance tracking Respond to parent inquiries via phone and email Receive and distribute mail and deliveries Maintain organized front office systems and supplies Provide administrative support in coordination with the Office Manager and school leadership Uphold strict confidentiality regarding students, families, and personnel Support the Head of School in maintaining documentation and records required for licensing Qualifications Prior receptionist, front desk, or administrative experience preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Professional judgment and discretion Comfort using office technology (Google Workspace, email, databases, Canva) Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy and dynamic school environment Commitment to fostering a welcoming and respectful school community Benefits Partial tuition remission for eligible children Consistent weekday schedule aligned with the academic calendar Meaningful work within a collaborative, mission-driven community
Compensation:
starting at $19/hour (exempt).
