Career opportunity! Herrin Animal Hospital is now hiring for a veterinary receptionist. We need a reliable person to join our passionate, close-knit team. Are you a "people person" who also happens to be a "pet person"? We are looking for a warm, organized, and resilient Veterinary Receptionist to join our team at Herrin Animal Hospital. As the first face (and voice) our clients encounter, you aren't just answering phones—you are the essential bridge between our pet parents and our medical team.
What You'll Be Doing:
Creating First Impressions:
Greeting clients and their furry friends with a sincere, professional, and welcoming demeanor. Managing the
Flow:
Coordinating appointment schedules, triaging emergency calls, and ensuring a smooth patient flow from check-in to discharge. Handling the
Details:
Maintaining accurate electronic medical records, processing payments/invoices, and managing prescription refills.
Providing Support:
Offering comfort to clients during stressful or emotional situations and educating them on basic pet care or clinic policies.
What We're Looking For:
Communication Experts:
Someone with exceptional verbal and written skills who can handle multiple phone lines without breaking a sweat.
Compassionate Problem-Solvers:
The ability to remain calm and empathetic when dealing with worried pet owners or medical emergencies.
Tech-Savvy Professionals:
Proficiency in basic computer skills; experience with veterinary software (like Cornerstone, AVImark, or eVetPractice) is a huge plus.
Physical Stamina:
Comfort standing for extended periods and the ability to occasionally lift up to [40-50] lbs.
