Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Receptionist, where you'll be the friendly face and organized voice that keeps our clinic running smoothly! In this vital role, you'll handle front desk operations, coordinate appointments, and ensure excellent client communication. Your energetic and positive attitude will help create a welcoming environment for pet owners and their beloved animals. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of animal care, supporting veterinary professionals and delivering outstanding service every day. Duties Greet clients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures for pets and owners Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and coordinate with veterinary staff to optimize daily workflow Collect payments, process medical billing, and handle insurance claims with accuracy and professionalism Maintain detailed records of client interactions, medical histories, and treatment plans using veterinary software Assist with medical collections and ensure compliance with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA standards Support kennel operations by coordinating pet care, animal husbandry, and basic animal restraint when needed Communicate clearly with clients regarding pet care instructions, upcoming procedures, and follow-up requirements Skills Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical-surgical procedures, and companion animal medicine Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively both in person and over the phone Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and veterinary management software systems Experience with animal handling, dog training, animal restraint, and pet care best practices Familiarity with laboratory procedures, aseptic techniques, and veterinary critical care protocols Ability to perform animal catheterization, understand animal anatomy, and assist with surgery support tasks Knowledge of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations, USDA guidelines, and veterinary clinic operations This role is perfect for someone passionate about animals who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
