Full Job Description Position Summary:

Monday -Friday Time:
3pm-6pm - Nelson Mandela & Benson West Locations Kids Can Community Center is a non-profit organization founded in 1908. Our mission is to educate, engage, and inspire children through early childhood care and out-of-school experiences. The Receptionist position has the overarching responsibility of creating a welcoming, supportive, and safe environment by monitoring building access, greeting families and guests, answering and directing phone calls, managing student check in/check out, and receiving parent payments. This position reports directly to the Office Manager.Essential Functions:
- Provide exceptional customer service through face to face and phone interactions.
- Maintain facility security by following safety procedures and controlling building access using security and controlled access systems.
- Greet, welcome, and direct guests to the appropriate person or area as soon as they arrive at our facility.
- Answer door, screen, and forward incoming guests.
- Develop understanding of basic business functions to provide accurate information in-person and via phone.
- Supports continuity among work teams and team members by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Perform and/or support staff in other clerical duties such as photocopying, photocopy trouble shooting, filing, and faxing.
- Contributes to team first environment by proactively supporting all business functions.
- Utilize City Span student information website to support attendance tracking, childcare payments, and appropriate student releases to support program teams.
- Maintain working knowledge and understanding of student releases to ensure all children are released to the appropriate guardians.
- Maintain strict confidentiality with student and agency information.
- Receive payments and communicate balances with parents in accordance with agency policies and procedures. Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required. Hiring is contingent upon approval from the Nebraska Central Registry of Child Abuse and Neglect, Nebraska Adult Protective Services Registry.
- Have or obtain within 90 days CPR/First Aid certification. Required Skills

- Ability to learn and implements various software for student information management and facility security among others.
- Strict adherence to professional attitude and appearance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
- Multitasking and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Ongoing/In-Service Requirements:
- Maintain active CPR/First Aid certification.
- Attend ongoing software trainings to maintain familiarity with updates and changes.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- The receptionist is frequently required to operate a computer and file/retrieve documents. The physical demands include, but are not limited to, standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, handling, kneeling, crouching, and bending.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
