Job Description

About Us At Harvard Vet, we are a small, tight-knit veterinary clinic dedicated to providing personalized care to our patient family. We believe that a trip to the vet should feel like visiting a trusted friend. Because we are a small team, every single role matters immensely—and our receptionist is the heartbeat of the clinic. The Role We are looking for a customer-experience champion to run our reception desk. As our sole receptionist, you are the first voice a worried pet parent hears on the phone and the first smile they see when they walk through our doors. You will be the orchestrator of our daily workflow, the calm presence during stressful emergencies, and the friendly face our clients look forward to seeing.
Your day-to-day:
Greet clients and patients by name, check them in, and ensure the waiting area feels clean, calm, and welcoming. Answer phones, triage client needs, schedule appointments strategically, and handle client check-outs/payments. Communicate clearly between anxious pet parents and our medical team to keep the day running smoothly. Keep patient files accurate and up-to-date in our clinic software, Idexx Neo.
Who you are:
You genuinely love interacting with people and have a deep empathy for animals (and their humans!) You are a natural at turning a standard transaction into a warm, positive experience. You can confidently handle a ringing phone, a client checking out, and a dog barking, all while keeping your cool. You pick up computer programs quickly. (Experience with Idexx Neo is a plus, but we are fully prepared to train the right person). You preferably have experience in a veterinary office, or you have experience in high-end retail, hospitality, or general customer service.
Why You'll Love It Here:
A small, supportive team environment where your presence actually matters. Paid time off, scrub allowance, and medical insurance offered. How to
