Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. WILL TRAIN THE CORRECT CANDIDATE.
The ideal candidate would have the ability to provide exceptional customer service in a retail setting. As an Optometric Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping patients select the right eyewear and ensuring their optical needs are met with precision and care. Responsibilities Pre-test patients for the optometrist. Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions and personal preferences. Conduct measurements for eyeglasses, including pupillary distance and frame fitting. Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and frame styles to enhance their vision experience. Maintain accurate medical records via the computer and ensure compliance with privacy regulations. Manage inventory of eyewear products and maintain the display area to ensure an appealing shopping experience. Utilize retail math skills to assist in pricing, sales tracking, and inventory management. Perform laboratory tasks such as lens edging and adjustments as needed. Data entry of patients optical information to start the insurance billing process. Light cleaning/disinfecting between patients Qualifications Previous experience in a clinical or retail environment is a plus. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for managing patient information effectively.
