A Switchboard or Telephone Operator works for a telephone company or system to operate telephone system equipment to route incoming calls, direct internal calls, or assist customers with placing calls. Assists with connecting long distance or collect calls, or provides customers with assistance in finding a phone number or an address. May also answer customer calls at a company or organization or work for an agency that handles and routes emergency calls.

Job Description
- Work closely with radiologists to facilitate workflow and daily needs in addition to supporting their interactions with customers
- Coordinate all radiology image and report management functions including but not limited to digital data (RIS/PACS) in a dynamic fast paced multi-hospital environment
- Serve as professional liaison to radiologists and their clients
- Contact referring providers and connect them to radiologists as needed
- Serve as telephone triage & liaison for inbound/outbound calls and transfer to appropriate service/individuals
- Perform quality control of exams ensuring they are ready for radiologist interpretation
- Monitor worklists and filters to ensure appropriateness and timeliness of reads
- Facilitate addendums to reports and ensure reports are corrected
- Maintain a continual high level of customer service both internally and externally
- Perform other duties as assigned Job Requirements
- Healthcare and customer service experience preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; advanced problem-solving skills
- Professional phone skills and experience
- General computer skills and knowledgeable in basic computer terminology
- Medical terminology preferred
- Ability to multitask and troubleshoot
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to sit 6-8 hours per day entering data on PC
