In this energetic role, you will perform skilled tree care and removal operations, utilizing advanced rigging techniques and equipment to ensure safety and precision. Responsibilities Safely ascend trees using climbing gear, rigging techniques, and bucket trucks to perform pruning, trimming, or removal tasks. Utilize arborist rigging techniques to carefully dismantle or prune trees without damaging surrounding property or vegetation. Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment to access hard-to-reach areas efficiently. Conduct tree removal operations with chainsaws and other specialized tools, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed. Perform plant pruning care, including shaping and thinning trees to promote healthy growth and aesthetics. Apply knowledge of dendrology (the study of trees) to assess tree health and determine appropriate care or removal strategies. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including safety checks, rigging setups, and tree condition assessments. Qualifications Proven outdoor work experience with a focus on horticulture, landscaping, or arboriculture. Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for mapping or planning tree maintenance projects is a plus. Hands-on experience operating bucket trucks, chainsaws, and other tree care equipment. Knowledge of arborist rigging techniques and tree removal procedures. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to climbing, rigging, and aerial operations. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing trees, lifting heavy equipment, and working at heights safely. Growing experience in landscape maintenance or lawn care is advantageous; formal certifications in arboriculture or horticulture are preferred.
