An Arborist provides care for trees. Trims and prunes trees to promote healthy growth and cuts trees or clear branches near utility lines, street signs or houses. Monitors trees for disease and insect damage. Manages trimming, watering and planting in parks and urban areas.
Full-Time, Hourly Job Summary The Production Arborist is a versatile field professional responsible for performing all aspects of tree care, including pruning, removals, climbing and plant health care applications, in a team environment. This position supports multiple divisions within the company and plays a key role in delivering safe, efficient and high-quality tree care services. This is a hands-on production role with opportunities to develop leadership and management skills. The candidate will possess the Arborist certification from ISA.
Key Responsibilities Technical Tree Work:
Operate and maintain specialized equipment, including chainsaws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and various hand tools. Perform general maintenance on all equipment, ensuring tools are sharp, fueled, and in good working order. Rake, chip, and load debris/brush onto trucks after tree work is completed. Safely and accurately mix and apply chemical, biological, and other treatments, including systemic injections, soil drenching, trunk sprays, and foliar applications. Calibrate and operate various types of application equipment (e.g., spray rigs, injectors, spreaders) ensuring precision and compliance with label directions. Maintain detailed and accurate records of all applications, including products used, rates, target plants, and environmental conditions. Ensure Best Management Practices are being followed and executed.
Safety & Compliance:
Maintain constant vigilance and communication to ensure the safety of the entire crew and the public. Follow all company and OSHA safety guidelines and proper rigging techniques. Perform thorough site cleanup, including raking, sweeping, blowing, and removing all trimmings, wood chips, and other tree-related materials. The expectation is the work zone looks better than it did prior to our arrival.
Teamwork & Professionalism:
Communicate effectively with the Crew Leader, and other team members. Participate actively in all required safety and training meetings. Represent the company professionally, maintaining a neat appearance and respectful demeanor. Be willing to learn and accept direction for skill development.
Qualifications and Requirements Experience & Certification:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in tree care or arboriculture with a professional company. ISA Certified Arborist certification is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Expert knowledge of tree anatomy, and pruning best management practices required. Proven expertise in advanced rigging techniques and complex tree removal in confined spaces required. Proficient operation of heavy equipment (bucket truck, wood chipper, etc.) required.
Leadership & Other:
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or ability to obtain one within 1 year of employment. Must be able to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions. Possess a clean driving record and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
