Job Description
Job Overview The Tree Crew Climber at Atlantic Tree Experts supports tree care and landscape maintenance operations by safely operating equipment, performing pruning tasks, and maintaining healthy trees and shrubs. We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Tree Crew Climber to join our arboriculture team at Atlantic Tree Experts. This role involves working at heights to perform tree care, trimming, and maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in tree climbing, rigging, and landscape maintenance, with a strong focus on safety and precision. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth within the horticulture and landscaping industries, contributing to the health and aesthetics of urban and rural environments. Responsibilities Climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and other safety equipment to perform pruning, trimming, and removal tasks Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment safely for access to elevated work areas Use rigging techniques to safely lower branches or sections of trees during removal or pruning Assist with landscape maintenance including lawn care, planting, and general horticultural tasks Conduct inspections of trees for health, stability, and potential hazards Follow all safety protocols related to tree care operations and equipment usage Maintain clean work sites by removing debris and ensuring tools are properly stored after each job Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards Qualifications Proven experience in tree care, tree trimming, or related landscape maintenance roles Knowledge of rigging techniques and the safe operation of bucket trucks and aerial lifts Familiarity with GIS mapping tools is a plus but not required Growing experience in horticulture or arboriculture is highly desirable Ability to work at heights safely while maintaining focus on detail and safety procedures Strong understanding of landscape maintenance practices including lawn care and general horticulture Physical fitness to climb trees, lift heavy equipment or branches, and work outdoors in various weather conditions Valid driver's license preferred; experience operating bucket trucks or similar equipment is a plus. RI Hoisting License (Nice to Have) ISA Arborists Certification (Nice to Have) This position provides an engaging environment for individuals passionate about tree care, landscaping, and outdoor work.
