Job Description

Irrigation Service Technician Dexter estate landscapes is seeking an experienced Irrigation Service Technician to join our growing team. We specialize in high-end residential estates and commercial properties throughout Napa Valley and are looking for a skilled irrigation professional who takes pride in diagnosing problems, finding solutions, and delivering exceptional workmanship. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who can work independently, troubleshoot complex irrigation systems, and serve as a technical expert within our organization. Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot irrigation system failures and performance issues. Perform comprehensive wet checks and identify deficiencies in system operation. Conduct detailed irrigation audits and provide written recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and water conservation improvements. Repair and maintain controllers, valves, wiring, mainlines, lateral lines, drip systems, and sprinkler components. Program, troubleshoot, and optimize smart irrigation controllers. Diagnose and repair two-wire irrigation systems , including decoder communication and field wiring issues. Configure, program, and maintain the Hunter Centralus irrigation management platform. Troubleshoot and repair Hunter ICC2, ACC2, and Hydrawise, irrigation control systems. Locate valves, decoders, and underground wiring using wire tracing and valve locating equipment. Diagnose flow management issues, master valves, pumps, pressure problems, and sensor failures. Perform controller upgrades, system retrofits, and water-efficiency improvements. Maintain accurate service reports and communicate findings clearly with clients and management. Operate safely and professionally while representing Dexter Estate Landscapes. Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of professional irrigation service experience. Extensive knowledge of commercial and high-end residential irrigation systems. Experience troubleshooting two-wire irrigation systems is required. Experience with the Hunter Centralus platform is required. Experience with Hunter irrigation products is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of:
Decoders Flow sensors and flow management Pump start relays Master valves Smart irrigation technology Electrical troubleshooting Wire locating and valve locating Ability to read irrigation plans and wiring diagrams. Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while managing multiple service calls. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Valid California Driver License with a clean driving record is required. Preferred Certifications Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA) Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) QWEL Certification Backflow Certification (a plus)
Pay:
$35.00 - $45.00 per hour
