Lil' Buckaroo's Farm Animal Farm Attendant Position Description Lil' Buckaroo's Farm is a family friendly establishment looking to provide a unique, fun, and educational experience for our visitors. Lil' Buckaroo's Farm is a new business that is quickly growing and in need of reliable, professional team members. Duties & Responsibilities This position reports to the Manager and/or Assistant Manager. The job generally requires the ability to perform the following tasks: Barn chores: Feeding of all animals on site according to feed charts Mucking out stalls and paddocks Handling of animals, including haltering and walking Checking and cleaning all automatic waterers, and giving fresh water to animals that do not have automatic watering systems Empty all garbage and manure buckets around barn Other general cleaning/maintenance/organizing Recognize Animal behaviors and alert management to any changes in behavior or health Communicate with guests about animals during farm visits Operate various pieces of farm equipment - training will be given Report any issues to Manager Answer guests' questions about the farm and our animals Interacting with guests during farm visits

With plenty for opportunity to obtain more hours - 14-32 hours per week. Must be flexible.

Weekends & weekdays as needed Holidays to be shared between staff
Education:
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
License/Certification:
Driver's License (Required) Skills needed: Detail Oriented Interpersonal skills : Must have excellent interpersonal skills, as they interact professionally with visitors, managers, and employees on a regular basis. Mechanically inclined : Skill with basic tools and equipment. Physical and mental stamina : May need to assist in lifting up to 75 pounds, fixing, or manipulating heavy equipment or machinery. May need to assist animals that are sick or injured which may need manipulating into a particular position. Must be prepared to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and varying weather conditions. Shows and events : If the barn is involved in or hosting an event, the barn hand shall help with preparation for such an event.
Animal Knowledge :
Must possess a foundation of basic animal knowledge. Medical treatments, animal nutritional needs, and animal behavioral management techniques not required, but preferred. Must be willing to become familiar with the breeds of animals under their care, as each breed comes with its own specific quirks and history.
Requirements:
Must have at least 1 year(s) of experience with animals Drivers License Must have reliable transportation

This position would be specific to Lil' Buckaroo's Farm but would be governed under the employment of Plane View Farm & Boarding. Most Duties and Responsibilities outlined above would be done at Lil' Buckaroo's Farm, with the potential to be cross trained on the Plane View Farm & Boarding side to be able to fill in for some tasks as needed. This position involves cleaning the barn to the standards of the manager and owners. This position will be working with the public during farm visits.
