Nāpuʻu Natural Resource Management is a conservation organization dedicated to preserving and restoring natural ecosystems at Pu'uwa'awa'a Forest Reserve. Our mission is to protect biodiversity and promote sustainable land management practices for the benefit of current and future generations.

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as Field Assistant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our conservation efforts by providing support in various field activities, including fence installation and maintenance, weed control, and the out-planting of native species.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the installation and maintenance of fences to protect sensitive habitats and wildlife. Conduct weed control activities, including manual removal and application of herbicides under supervision. Participate in the out-planting of native species to enhance biodiversity and restore degraded ecosystems. Follow established protocols and safety procedures to ensure the effective and responsible execution of field tasks. Collaborate with team members to accomplish project goals efficiently and effectively. Document work activities, including data collection and reporting, as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in outdoor work or conservation-related activities is preferred but not required. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Passion for conservation and environmental stewardship.
