Job Duties:

The seasonal agricultural worker will prepare fields for planting; attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, and harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; and operate tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, combines, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery. Duties will include planting, weeding, spraying, cultivating, and harvesting crops; fertilizing and applying pesticide solutions using hand sprayers to control insects, fungus, weeds, and crop diseases; loading and unloading crops and materials manually or using conveyors, forklifts, transfer augers, or hand trucks; loading hoppers, containers, and conveyors with agricultural products using forklifts, augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks; and transporting harvested grain to market using farm trucks and wagons. Workers will observe and listen to machinery during operation to identify malfunctions and perform routine inspections, adjustments, maintenance, and repairs on farm equipment and vehicles. Workers will record agricultural data as required; clean and maintain work areas, equipment, facilities, and farm grounds; perform snow removal as needed; and conduct routine maintenance and repairs on barns, sheds, grain bins, fences, and other farm structures. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer's discretion, Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer's discretion.
