Overview Join our dynamic team as a Grain Elevator Worker and become a vital part of the agricultural and manufacturing industry! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for handling grain and bulk materials with precision and safety, ensuring smooth operations at the grain elevator facility. Your work will contribute directly to the efficient processing and storage of agricultural products, supporting local farming communities and food production systems. We are looking for motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize safety, and are eager to develop their skills in machinery operation and material handling. Duties Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, grain conveyors, and material handling machinery to load, unload, and move grain and other bulk materials efficiently. Perform manual handling tasks including lifting, stacking, and transporting bags or bulk materials while adhering to safety protocols. Monitor grain levels and quality, conducting inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards in production and storage. Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and basic repairs to ensure optimal operation. Follow strict safety procedures during all operations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety standards in manufacturing environments. Assist with the maintenance of the grain elevator infrastructure, including cleaning silos, checking for blockages or damage, and reporting issues promptly. Support farming activities by handling grain during harvest seasons or assisting with transportation using commercial driving or tanker operations when required. Qualifications Previous experience in the milling industry or agriculture is highly preferred; familiarity with grain handling is a strong asset. Mechanical knowledge combined with experience operating machinery such as forklifts, heavy equipment, or material handling systems. Ability to perform manual tasks involving heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail. Basic math skills for measuring quantities, calculating weights, or reading gauges accurately. Knowledge of safety standards related to food processing, manufacturing environments, and heavy equipment operation. Experience with equipment maintenance routines and troubleshooting mechanical issues is advantageous. Valid certifications for forklift operation or commercial driving (including tanker licenses) are a plus; willingness to obtain necessary certifications if not already held.
