Responsibilities Assist in maintaining optimal growing conditions through precise irrigation management and environmental controls using agricultural environmental control systems. Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for planting, pruning, transplanting, and harvesting to ensure consistency and quality. Manage irrigation systems to deliver appropriate water levels tailored to different crop stages, monitoring for leaks or malfunctions regularly. Conduct crop production activities including planting, trimming, staking, and supporting plants to promote healthy growth. Apply integrated pest management techniques to identify pests early and implement effective plant pest control measures while minimizing chemical use. Support greenhouse cultivation efforts by managing horticultural teams during planting cycles, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently. Perform outdoor work such as lawn care, landscaping, garden trimming, and land maintenance to keep cultivation areas tidy and productive. Use hand tools safely and effectively for various gardening tasks while adhering to safety protocols. Identify plant species and pests accurately through visual inspection and basic plant identification skills. Maintain detailed records of crop progress, pest treatments, irrigation schedules, and environmental conditions following SOPs. Requirements Proven experience in horticulture or agriculture with a focus on greenhouse cultivation or outdoor gardening. Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, irrigation management, and agricultural environmental control systems. Hands-on experience with crop production techniques including planting, pruning, pest control, and harvesting. Familiarity with integrated pest management strategies and plant pest control methods. Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently; experience with lawn care and landscaping is a plus. Excellent plant identification skills coupled with basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to crop care. Physical ability for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, and outdoor work in various weather conditions. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to manage horticultural teams effectively during busy cultivation periods. Knowledge of greenhouses or controlled environment agriculture is preferred but not required; outdoor work experience is highly valued.
