A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

Job Description

Interested in working with animals and learning the ins and outs of regenerative agriculture? 1915 Farm is direct to consumer regenerative farm raising premium grassfed and pasture raised beef, pork, and chicken, shipping our products all across Texas and the United States. We are looking for a highly dependable, experienced and motivated farm and ranch hand capable of taking on farm projects and seeing them through to the end. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working around various types of livestock, outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions. They will work well with others, communicate with supervision, and have a "can-do" attitude. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Fence work Brush control Loading, sorting, moving livestock and chickens Hauling livestock Feeding livestock, checking for sickness etc Castrating/doctoring livestock Checking/fixing water lines Light mechanical work Painting Groundskeeping Light construction work Powerwashing equipment Cleaning/mucking chick brooder Lifting and unloading meat
IMPORTANT
: If you are looking to cowboy on a cattle ranch this is not it. You will be spending more time with chickens and hogs than cattle, and we don't work any livestock on horseback. An example of a typical day would be feeding and caring for livestock in the morning•chickens, hogs, and cattle and doing farm projects in the afternoons like fencing, brush control, cleaning equipment etc Skills Required MUST have clean driving record Must have experience hauling all types of trailers Fence building and repair experience required (barbed wire, net wire, electric fence) Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions Experience around livestock, and general animal husbandry skills A self-starter willing and able to get the job done The hours for this position are 7 am-4 pm working Sunday•Thursday.
Pay:
$18.00•$23.00 per hour
