Stable Worker & Groom
IMMEDIATE NEED/HIRE FOR TEMPORARY LEAVE COVERAGE
(3-4 months), potential long term position available as well. Tivoli Farm is a private residence and horse farm outside of Gordonsville. We have a laid back work environment but expect a very high level of excellence in our employee performance and efficient, polished day to day work. We have a small dedicated and discrete team that works for the principal family - who hold the land, area history, community, and horse husbandry to the highest of standards. We are looking for an additional stable worker to work 20-30 hours a week. These hours may be reduced slightly in the winter (18-25 hrs.) Flexibility, professionalism, strong work ethic, and eye for detail are imperative. Duties for this position will include (regularly): Mucking out stalls and horse runs Turning out/bringing in horses Dragging paddocks Keeping the barn meticulously clean (free of cobwebs, excessive dust, debris, loose hay and shavings, etc. (We vacuum the barn every evening after work is complete) Complete grooming and medical care Misc.
horse related chores such as:
cleaning brushes, cleaning tack, cleaning feed room, detailing equipment/gator, etc. Helping with projects such as painting, cleaning other farm buildings (exterior), running errands, meeting contractors/delivery people, and otherwise finding yourself to be helpful and handy around the farm and its operations. The work schedule for this position is flexible. At least a few AM and PM, weekend shifts necessary. Open to evenings and weekends as well. There is a possibility for this position to include exercising horses, for a qualified candidate that proves they are a good fit for our style of riding and horsemanship. Preference will be given to the most qualified person who seems to fit well with our existing staff. Preference also given to anyone who has another skill set that we may be able to utilize to round out farm employment needs (gardening, handyman, nonprofit work, etc.) To apply to this job please send your resume with latest or pertinent work experience. Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 28.0 per week Application Question(s): Due to the nature of this job, we are looking for someone lives within 25 minutes of the Gordonsville/Barboursville/Somerset area. Do you live within that range?
