A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

Job Description
(posted 7/31/26) Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia seeks applications for full-time and part-time horse barn workers to clean stalls, feed and groom horses, and perform general barn duties. Full-time hours are primarily 5:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. five days/week, including one weekend day, with flexibility for two days off per week. Part-time hours are flexible in the afternoons five days/week; exact times and days are to be determined, but will likely include one weekend day. Full-time employees are eligible for health, life, disability, and ancillary insurance; paid time off; and retirement plan and tuition assistance benefits. Part-time employees are eligible for certain benefits on a pro-rated basis. Experience working with horses preferred. Must have a valid United States driver's license with minimal violations. The salary range for this position is $14.11-$16.20/hour, and the pay offered will be based on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
