Job Description

About the Role The Log Sorting Clerk is responsible for the acceptance and quality control of incoming round wood deliveries.
Shift Schedule Weekday Shift:
11:00 AM - 8:00 PM (Monday - Friday) What You'll Do Acceptance of the log deliveries Monitors and verifies the delivered wood quality Deducts weight equivalents for quality unconforming deliveries Monitors the inflow and outflow of forest products, trucking, and grading/scaling of logs to meet current specifications and markets Prepare deductions proposals for inventory that does not meet quality standards Sort, prepare and inventory logs Other duties as assigned ✅ What We're Looking For Log scaling or log yard experience Forestry background preferred Background in timber yards, sawmills, shipping, or industrial logistics Strong attention to safety, efficiency, and organization Ability to read and follow verbal/written load plans and instructions Preferred Qualities Must be able to walk around trucks for expertise of logs, handling controls of scale, communicating with co-workers, vision for quality assessment of logs Must be dependable and show ability to take direction Able to work flexible schedules and long hours Attention to detail Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) ️ Physical Requirements Ability to stand/walk for long periods Frequent lifting, bending, and handling heavy materials Ability to work outdoors in all temperatures, in loud, high-volume environment Exposure to moving mechanical equipment Perform essential functions of job that includes walking, standing, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds About Binderholz Binderholz is Europe's leading manufacturer of solid wood products and innovative mass timber construction solutions.
