Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
: Responsible for day to day hatchery functions to ensure quality performance resulting in superior quality birds delivered to our growers.
DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
: Ensure all hatchery equipment and machinery is clean and operating effectively, including boxes, dollies, hatch baskets, cull barrels, and racks. Inspect all equipment for damages and assist in repairing as needed. Complete wet and dry cleaning for the hatchers. Clean and sanitize floors and walls throughout the hatchery. Assist in cleaning the chick processing area. Assist in cleaning of the hatchery as needed. Load chick carts onto separator robot. Ensure the separator robot runs efficiently and report issues of equipment to hatchery maintenance. Ensure flock changes are done correctly. Count and record the number of chicks per box. Take chick rectal temperatures and record. Inspect chicks for animal welfare. Ensure Dolly Restacker Robot is running efficiently. Ensure the correct number of chick boxes is loaded correctly on each dolly and truck. Assist in loading chick trailer. Assist in flock changes. Ensure chicks are comfortable and room temperature is correct in the holding area. Clean and sanitize the breakroom, locker rooms, mezzanines, and office areas. All other duties assigned.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
Ability to comprehend and follow instructions. MUST be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes to the needs of production. MUST be a team player. MUST be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position. MUST be able to stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift. MUST wear correct job specific PPE as designated by company policy. MUST possess exceptional time management and prioritization skills. Ability to handle eggs and chicks with caution. Ability to be a good representative of the Company. Ability to perform tasks with limited supervision. MUST be familiar with and in compliance of The Packers & Stockyards Act with all assigned duties and responsibilities.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment preferred. This position requires that you cannot own or have any contact with animals with feathers, other than those owned by Lincoln Premium Poultry, during your employment with LPP.
