February 2027 P&M Lawn & Landscaping is seeking an experienced Field Manager to oversee the day-to-day execution of our lawn, landscape, and snow operations. This is not an entry-level management position. The Field Manager serves as the primary link between ownership and our field crews. Ownership establishes the master work schedule, company priorities, and production expectations. The Field Manager is responsible for executing that plan in the field. This includes managing and developing employees, dispatching crews, monitoring production, inspecting properties, maintaining equipment accountability, enforcing company procedures, solving daily field problems, and making sure scheduled work gets completed to P&M standards. A major responsibility of this position is coaching, training, and developing our Crew Leads and Crew Members. Bilingual English/Spanish communication is required. Chain of Command Ownership ↓ Field Manager ↓ Crew Leads ↓ Crew Members The Field Manager reports directly to ownership. Crew Leads and Crew Members report through the Field Manager for day-to-day field operations. Ownership Responsibilities Ownership will continue to: Establish the master work schedule Establish company priorities Establish labor and production targets Make final hiring and termination decisions Make major purchasing and equipment decisions Handle higher-level customer and contract decisions The Field Manager's responsibility is to take the plan and successfully execute it in the field. Primary Responsibilities The Field Manager is responsible for: Daily coaching, training, and development of Crew Leads and Crew Members Daily management of field operations Executing the schedule established by ownership Daily schedule completion Managing Crew Leads and field employees Setting expectations and holding crews accountable Morning crew dispatch Daily manpower adjustments Monitoring labor hours and production Quality control Site inspections and reporting Truck, trailer, equipment, and inventory readiness Equipment-hour tracking Equipment condition and accountability Coordinating equipment downtime and repair needs New-hire field onboarding Weather and rain-delay adjustments Daily operational paperwork Daily digital reporting Safety and company-procedure enforcement Communication between ownership and field employees Snow and ice field operations Working directly with crews when training or operational needs require it Daily Operations The Field Manager is responsible for making sure the field operation is prepared and organized each day.
Responsibilities include:
Double-check trucks and inventory Double-check trailers and equipment Verify crews have the equipment and materials required for their routes Confirm Crew Leads understand schedules and site instructions Dispatch crews efficiently Review employee paperwork and hours worked Monitor labor hours throughout the day Address employee call-outs and staffing changes Address equipment problems and downtime Monitor schedule completion Reallocate employees and equipment when necessary Perform site checks and quality-control inspections Track equipment hours Maintain truck and trailer inventory Monitor equipment condition and maintenance needs Follow up on deficient or incomplete work Update site visits and operational information in SynkedUP Prepare crews and equipment for upcoming work Communicate significant operational issues to ownership Coaching, Training & Crew Development Coaching and training our field employees is a primary responsibility of the Field Manager. We are looking for someone who does more than identify problems. The Field Manager must be able to teach employees how to perform their jobs correctly, efficiently, safely, and consistently. The Field Manager will regularly work with Crew Leads and Crew Members to improve: Commercial and residential mowing techniques Equipment operation Trimming, edging, and blowing procedures Landscape-maintenance techniques Property-specific procedures Equipment care Truck and trailer organization Loading and unloading procedures Job sequencing Crew organization Production and efficiency Quality-control standards Safety procedures Pre-shift procedures Lunch procedures Post-shift procedures Communication between Crew Leads and Crew Members Paperwork and digital reporting Training is expected to be hands-on and continuous. The Field Manager should observe employees working, identify opportunities for improvement, demonstrate proper procedures when necessary, provide coaching, and follow up to verify improvement. Repeated problems should be documented and communicated to ownership. Crew Lead Development A major goal of this position is developing Crew Leads who can independently manage their crews and routes.
The Field Manager will:
Coach Crew Leads on employee management Teach Crew Leads how to organize their workday Improve communication within crews Train Crew Leads on property-specific expectations Teach production and labor-hour expectations Reinforce equipment and truck accountability Address recurring performance problems Follow up after coaching and corrective conversations Identify employees with leadership potential Help develop future Crew Leads The goal is to build crews that can operate successfully without constant supervision. Schedule Execution Ownership sets the master schedule. The Field Manager is responsible for executing it. Once crews are dispatched, the Field Manager monitors progress and makes reasonable field adjustments necessary to keep work moving. When call-outs, weather, equipment problems, or production issues affect the day's schedule, the Field Manager may: Move employees between crews Reassign available equipment Adjust crew assignments Coordinate equipment repairs or replacement equipment Determine which scheduled work requires immediate attention Communicate significant disruptions to ownership Develop recovery plans with ownership for unfinished work Follow through until problems are resolved The expectation is to identify problems early and bring solutions to ownership. Labor & Production Management The Field Manager is responsible for monitoring field labor and crew productivity.
Responsibilities include:
Monitoring actual labor hours against expected hours Identifying jobs consistently running over target Monitoring overtime Reviewing employee time and paperwork Identifying production problems Coaching Crew Leads on efficiency Making appropriate manpower adjustments Reporting recurring production problems to ownership The goal is to produce quality work while maintaining control of labor hours. Quality Control & Site Management The Field Manager is responsible for maintaining P&M's field standards.
Responsibilities include:
Routine property inspections Weekly site checks and reports Reviewing Crew Lead reports Learning property-specific scopes and expectations Identifying incomplete or deficient work Documenting deficiencies Requiring corrective work when necessary Following up to verify corrections Communicating significant property issues to ownership Professionally communicating with customers or property managers when appropriate The Field Manager should know our properties well enough to recognize when work is being completed incorrectly or something has been missed. Equipment Accountability The Field Manager is responsible for helping protect and maintain company equipment.
Responsibilities include:
Monitoring equipment condition Tracking equipment hours Making sure damage is reported Making sure mechanical problems are reported promptly Enforcing proper equipment operation Monitoring truck and trailer organization Ensuring required equipment is accounted for Coordinating equipment downtime with ownership Reinforcing proper loading, unloading, and transportation procedures The Field Manager is not expected to personally perform every repair but is responsible for making sure equipment problems do not go unreported or ignored. Safety The Field Manager is responsible for enforcing company safety procedures.

Proper PPE Safe equipment operation Safe truck and trailer procedures Proper loading and unloading Safe jobsite practices Correcting unsafe employee behavior Reporting accidents and property damage Ensuring incidents are properly documented Unsafe work should be corrected immediately. New-Hire Onboarding The Field Manager will oversee the field portion of new-employee onboarding. This includes training new employees on: Company field procedures Equipment operation Equipment care Truck and trailer procedures Safety expectations Property-maintenance standards Crew expectations Production expectations Daily procedures Required paperwork and digital systems The Field Manager will monitor new employees' progress and provide ownership with feedback regarding performance and development. Procedures & Accountability The Field Manager is responsible for ensuring company procedures are consistently followed, including: Pre-shift procedures

- Crew Leads and Crew Members Daily labor-hour reporting Truck and equipment inspections Daily Crew Lead updates Daily site-visit updates in SynkedUP Weekly property inspections and reports Documentation of deficiencies Follow-up on corrective work Equipment-hour reporting Truck and trailer inventory procedures Field Authority To successfully manage daily field operations, the Field Manager has the authority to: Direct Crew Leads and Crew Members Move employees between crews when operationally necessary Provide coaching and corrective instruction Stop unsafe work Stop improper equipment operation Require deficient work to be corrected Make reasonable daily manpower adjustments Reallocate available equipment Address violations of established field procedures Escalate recurring performance and disciplinary issues to ownership Ownership retains authority over the master schedule, major personnel decisions, major purchasing decisions, company policies, and overall company direction.
Hands-On Field Leadership This is a management-first position, but it is not a desk position. The Field Manager should expect to spend significant time in the field observing crews, coaching employees, inspecting properties, demonstrating proper techniques, solving production problems, and reinforcing company procedures. When necessary, the Field Manager must also be capable of temporarily running or working alongside a crew to maintain operations. However, the Field Manager's primary responsibility is not to become another production employee. The goal is to make the employees and crews underneath the Field Manager better. Employee Management The Field Manager must be comfortable managing different personalities while maintaining consistent standards.

Required Experience & Qualifications Candidates must: Be bilingual in English and Spanish Be capable of clearly communicating instructions, training, expectations, and corrective feedback in both languages Have previous hands-on Field Manager, Field Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, or comparable management experience Have experience directly managing multiple crews and field employees Have lawn, landscape, commercial grounds-maintenance, or similar field-service experience Have previous snow and ice management experience Have experience coordinating employees and equipment during snow events Understand commercial mowing and landscape equipment Be capable of operating company trucks and trailers Have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Possess strong organizational and communication skills Be comfortable making decisions in the field Be capable of managing changing priorities Be comfortable using mobile apps and digital reporting systems Be physically capable of assisting with fieldwork when necessary Be available for seasonal schedule changes and extended hours when required Demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality Set a professional example for employees Snow & Ice Operations Previous snow and ice management experience is required. During winter weather events, the Field Manager will help execute P&M's snow and ice operations.

How Performance Will Be Measured The Field Manager will be evaluated on the overall performance and development of the field operation, including: Schedule completion Crew productivity Labor-hour performance Quality of completed work Site-inspection completion Employee training and development Crew Lead development and independence Reduction of repeated employee mistakes Equipment care and accountability Accuracy and completion of paperwork Digital reporting Safety Adherence to company procedures Communication with ownership Ability to identify problems early and provide solutions The Field Manager's success is not measured solely by how much work they personally complete. Success is measured by how well the crews underneath them perform. The position is initially structured around our primary March-December operating season , with snow and ice responsibilities during the winter.
