Job Description
Overview Join our landscaping team and work outdoors creating and maintaining beautiful properties throughout Santa Cruz County. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Landscape Laborer to assist with landscape maintenance and installation projects. Duties may include mowing, edging, pruning, planting, weed control, irrigation repairs, hauling debris, and general landscape construction. Applicants should be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, be able to perform physical labor, and work well as part of a team. Responsibilities Assist in landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, pruning, and planting to keep outdoor spaces vibrant and healthy Operate hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment . Support hardscape projects by preparing sites, laying pavers, installing retaining walls, and other construction activities Perform lawn care duties like aeration, fertilization, overseeding to ensure year-round property upkeep Conduct tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and planting to promote healthy growth and safety Maintain equipment through routine cleaning and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance Follow safety protocols at all times while working with machinery, tools, and during construction or landscaping tasks Skills Mechanical knowledge for operating landscaping machinery and hand tools effectively Experience with lawn care practices such as mowing, fertilizing, aerating, and overseeding Strong background in landscape maintenance including, planting, pruning, and irrigation system installation Familiarity with landscaping techniques for both softscape (plants) and hardscape (pavers, retaining walls) projects Ability to use hand tools (shovels, rakes, pruners) and power tools safely and accurately Knowledge of tree care practices including trimming and planting for health and safety reasons Strong work ethic with attention to detail in maintaining high standards of quality across all tasks
