GED Driver's License Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Park Operations General Grounds Specialist will assist in preparing the setup and completion of interments, placement of memorial tablets, and crypt plates while ensuring they are providing service excellence. In addition, the General Grounds Specialist will perform grounds maintenance activities in addition to their internment functions. This position requires customer service aptitude.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Landscape Maintenance:
Regularly mowing, trimming, and edging the grass to ensure the cemetery grounds are aesthetically pleasing and free of overgrowth.
Services:
Assist in the setting up and completion of interment services; including the installation of tents for funeral services.
Grave Care:
Digging and filling graves as needed, ensuring they are prepared in accordance with established procedures and in a compassionate manner.
Floral Arrangement:
Arranging and maintaining floral displays, wreaths, and other memorial decorations, ensuring they are displayed respectfully and replaced as necessary.
Headstone Maintenance:
Cleaning and repairing headstones and grave markers to preserve their integrity and readability.
Trash Removal:
Collecting and disposing of litter and debris throughout the cemetery, maintaining a clean and tidy appearance.
Customer Service:
Interacting courteously with visitors, providing directions, information, and assistance when needed, and offering empathy and support to grieving families.
Physical Stamina:
Performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, operating grounds maintenance equipment, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Attention to
Detail:
Ensuring the cemetery grounds are immaculate and that headstones and markers are properly maintained.

Displaying empathy and understanding when dealing with grieving families and visitors, maintaining a respectful and compassionate demeanor at all times. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Six months to one year of related experience in landscaping or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Driver's License:
requires nine (9) years of obtaining a valid driver's license. (Required)
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to learn to be able to operate various types of equipment; skip loaders, tampers, backhoes, etc.

Pay:
$20.00 - $21.00 per hour
