The Groundskeeper I performs all duties as assigned by the Facilities Director as well as ensures safety, cleanliness, and proper use or care of equipment at all times. They are responsible for trimming and mowing of grounds, trash/debris pick-up and general grounds maintenance at a level defined by the Facilities Director. They are responsible for managing these functions in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees, and Board of Directors of the YMCA.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED preferred. Experience in construction, facility maintenance, vehicle maintenance, or equivalent work. Ability to operate maintenance equipment and lawn maintenance equipment, and perform general maintenance and general knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and light carpentry. Ability to read and follow oral and written directions. The position requires the ability to work with applications on electronic devices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Positive attitude and enjoying working in a team-oriented environment is essential to success. Multi-lingual desired but not required.
