Job Description

FMNE Insurance is seeking a Facilities & Grounds Technician to join our Administrative Services Department . We're looking for a motivated, dependable individual with a strong work ethic and mechanical aptitude to help maintain our facilities, grounds, and equipment while supporting a safe and professional workplace. Role Overview:
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, assisting the Facilities Operations Manager in maintaining the upkeep and safety of the interior and exterior of Company buildings and grounds, along with all aspects of cleaning the building and equipment.
Responsibilities :
Demonstrates the Company's mission, while successfully performing its core values related to integrity, service, excellence, stability, strength, respect, and teamwork. Assist the Facilities Operations Manager in repairs and general upkeep of buildings, equipment, and grounds. Serve as a backup responder to building and equipment alarms. Assist in keeping inventory of the custodial, building, and Mail Center supplies. Provide backup support for Mail Center operations when necessary. Perform weekend building "on call" checks on a rotating basis and respond to on-site issues as needed. Seasonal outside duties include lawn and grounds maintenance, window cleaning, snow and ice removal. Visually inspect fire extinguishers monthly to ensure that they are mounted in their assigned location, are not blocked, or hidden, and show no signs of damage. Perform typical light maintenance and plumbing tasks, as needed. Run errands and pick up parts and service our owned properties and Mail Center, as needed. Perform daily custodial tasks including vacuum, dust, empty wastebaskets, clean restrooms, and assist team, as needed. Ensure custodial closets are stocked with 2-3 days' worth of supplies/chemicals on a daily basis. Attend any recommended training for technical knowledge of systems or equipment as requested by management. Meet vendors on site and assist with access and oversight, as needed. Assist with safety and security checks and participate in any exercises or meetings, as it relates to the job. Regular and timely attendance in the office is an essential function of the position.
Skills and Qualifications :
High school graduate or equivalent, plus 6-12 months previous experience in light maintenance work, required. Ability to perform and/or assist with carpentry, light plumbing and electrical, painting, and janitorial tasks. Must be available to work overtime hours, including some weekends. Must have flexibility with work schedule to accommodate shifts when the Facilities Operations Manager or team members are unavailable. Must be self-motivated, a problem solver, and able to work without close supervision. Mechanical aptitude necessary. Basic computer and documentation skills required. Able to use industrial soaps and cleaning products. Ability to climb ladders, lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds, required. Must be able to tolerate prolonged standing, walking, and lifting and working, at times, in inclement weather. A valid driver's license is required. Ability to work well as part of a team.
