Job Description

Whip Poor Will Golf Club is seeking individuals to join our Grounds Crew! (Monday
  • Friday 5:00am
  • 1:00pm) Must be 18 years or older
  • The Golf Course Maintenance Staff Member performs jobs involved in golf course maintenance. Will train the right candidate. Free golf for all employees! DUTIES The duties of a Golf Course Maintenance Staff Member include:
  • Operate powered equipment in mowing the golf course putting greens, aprons, tees, fairways, and rough areas.
  • Water and fertilize putting greens, tees, and fairways.
  • Grade and prepare a soil planting bed, lay sod, plant vegetative material, and seed putting greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
  • Change cups and tee markers; fill divots.
  • Maintain ball washers and water coolers.
  • Edge cart paths, edge, rake and maintain sand bunkers.
  • Operate trucks and other light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris.
  • Trim trees and shrubbery; cultivate flowers and shrubs.
  • Lay walks and paths using gravel and asphalt mixes, excavate and backfill ditches and trenches with hand tools, repair and replace pipe on irrigation systems.
  • Replace tee towels and flags when needed.
  • Return all equipment to designated location at the maintenance facility, clean maintenance areas.
  • Mark the course for cart control weekly, move cart control barriers, and replace worn or lost ropes and signs; may mark hazard and drop areas.
This position is a temporary and seasonal position.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in golf course ground landscape construction and maintenance work.
  • Ability to safely operate trucks and motorized equipment and follow oral and written directions.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift and move 80 lbs.

Experience:
Previous golf course experience a plus: 1 year (Preferred)
