Job Description

We're looking for an experienced and highly skilled CDL driver and groundsman to join our team. These positions are critical to our operations, involving the safe and efficient transport of wood chips from various residential and commercial job sites to a recycling facility, as well as supporting daily tree care and maintenance operations on-site.
Responsibilities:
Operate a commercial chip truck or similar heavy vehicle, and when at the job site and not driving, work actively beside the crew as a groundsman. Assist with tree care operations, including dragging brush, feeding wood chippers, and operating chainsaws or pole saws safely and effectively. Rig trees and lower limbs using ropes, pulleys, and rigging hardware under the direction of the crew leader or climber. Set up and dismantle job site safety perimeters, including cones, warning signs, and traffic control measures. Efficiently and safely ensure proper weight distribution and securement of loads according to DOT regulations and company policies. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels. Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations, as well as company safety policies. Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on the truck and ground equipment (e.g., chipper blade changes, basic chainsaw upkeep). Ensure the cleanliness and good operating condition of the vehicle, tools, and equipment.
Qualifications:
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an excellent driving record. Prior experience working as a groundsman in the tree care or landscaping industry. Familiarity with operating wood chippers, chainsaws, and basic rigging equipment. Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in various weather conditions.
