Responsibilities Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, and pruning to keep grounds looking pristine. Operate grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment including power tools, lawn mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently. Identify various plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers to support proper gardening and landscaping practices. Support tree care activities such as planting, pruning, and removal while adhering to safety standards. Maintain hardscape features like pathways, patios, and retaining walls by performing routine upkeep and minor repairs. Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed. Follow safety protocols diligently during outdoor work activities to prevent accidents and injuries. Skills Mechanical knowledge for operating and maintaining landscaping tools and equipment. Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or groundskeeping is highly desirable. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and grounds maintenance equipment operation. Ability to identify plants accurately and understand basic horticulture principles. Knowledge of pesticide management practices for safe application when necessary. Familiarity with irrigation systems installation, troubleshooting, and repair techniques. Outdoor work experience that demonstrates reliability in various weather conditions. Strong understanding of safety procedures related to landscaping activities including snow plowing when applicable. Ability to perform lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, fertilizing, and aeration effectively. Knowledge of tree care practices including planting, pruning, and removal techniques. Experience with hardscape construction or maintenance is a plus.
