Lawn Care & Landscape Maintenance- Crew Leader Overview Mow Masters Lawn Care & Landscape is looking for an experienced, motivated Crew Leader to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors, and has the experience and confidence to lead a crew while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and professionalism. As a Crew Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team in the completion of lawn care, landscape maintenance, and select landscape projects. You will help plan and organize daily work, operate and oversee equipment, communicate with customers and Owner, and ensure each property is maintained to the high standards our customers expect. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, organized, and able to take ownership of a job from start to finish. You should be comfortable making decisions in the field, solving problems, teaching less experienced team members, and keeping a crew productive while maintaining a positive work environment. Pesticide applicator license a plus Responsibilities Lead and supervise a crew performing lawn care, landscape maintenance, and landscape projects. Organize daily work and assign tasks to crew members based on project requirements, skill level, and efficiency. Ensure jobs are completed correctly, efficiently, and according to company standards. Operate and oversee the safe operation of commercial lawn and landscape equipment, including trucks/trailers, zero-turn mowers, string trimmers, blowers, Loader, hedge trimmers, sprayers, aerators, and other equipment. Train and mentor crew members in proper equipment operation, landscaping techniques, safety procedures, and company expectations. Perform quality-control checks throughout the day and correct issues before leaving a property. Communicate professionally with customers, property managers, and company management regarding work being performed and any issues that arise. Identify plants, trees, shrubs, weeds, and common landscape problems to ensure proper maintenance and treatment. Assist with fertilizer, weed control, aeration, pruning, landscape bed maintenance, cleanups, mulching, and other lawn and landscape services. Safely operate company trucks, trailers, and equipment while transporting crew members, materials, and equipment to and from job sites. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance of vehicles, trailers, equipment, and job sites. Complete job documentation, including work performed, materials used, production information, and notes regarding property or customer concerns using Yardbook. Monitor material and equipment needs and communicate shortages or maintenance issues to management. Follow all company safety policies and ensure crew members are working safely at all times. Help maintain a positive, respectful, and productive work environment. Represent Mow Masters professionally at every property and interaction. Qualifications Previous experience in professional lawn care, landscaping, landscape maintenance, groundskeeping, or a related field. Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of lawn and landscape maintenance practices. Ability to confidently identify common plants, trees, shrubs, weeds, and landscape issues. Experience operating commercial lawn and landscape equipment. Ability to safely operate trucks and trailers and maintain a valid driver's license. Experience with landscape construction, pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain one), or horticulture is a plus. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to train, motivate, and hold crew members accountable. Ability to work independently and make good decisions in the field. Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions. Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Dependable transportation and reliable attendance.
