Duties Operate lawn care equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and power tools to maintain grass, shrubs, and trees. Perform landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, edging, fertilizing, and weed control to promote healthy growth. Manage irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and adjusting sprinklers to ensure proper watering schedules. Conduct groundskeeping activities like leaf removal, snow plowing during winter months, and hardscape upkeep to keep outdoor spaces tidy and functional. Identify various plants, trees, and pests to support effective plant health management and pesticide application when necessary. Use hand tools and landscaping equipment safely following established safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries. Assist with tree trimming, shrub shaping, and basic tree care to enhance landscape aesthetics and safety. Experience Prior outdoor work experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping is highly preferred. Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques including mowing, planting, pruning, and pest management. Familiarity with groundskeeping equipment operation such as excavators or other heavy machinery is a plus. Understanding of horticulture principles related to plant identification and soil health. Ability to follow safety procedures diligently while operating power tools and heavy equipment like excavators or snow plows. Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions with a focus on safety and efficiency.
