Work Shifts 11:30 P.M - 8:00 A.M Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Duties & Responsibilities Purpose of Position:
Under supervision, performs routine security inspections of buildings and grounds to prevent trespassing, property damage or loss. Performs related work as required.
Examples of Typical Tasks:
1. Conducts periodic tours of buildings and grounds to inspect doors, windows, gates, locks and equipment. 2. Monitors for unauthorized entry, fire hazards, leaks from water or steam lines, and other conditions which might result in property damage or loss. 3. Maintains order by preventing trespassing and discouraging loitering. 4. Responds to incoming telephone calls and doorbells. 5. Operates elevators during emergency situations. 6. May operate heating equipment as required. Minimum Qualifications 1. Valid New York State Security Guard registration card issued by the Department of State; and 2. Satisfactory completion of a 16-hour On-the-Job Training (OJT) course within ninety (90) days of employment.
Special Note:
Employees in this title are required to complete an 8-hour in-service training course within one (1) calendar year of completion of the 16-hour OJT course, and annually thereafter.
