Responsibilities Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of chillers, refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, and related HVAC equipment. Learn to interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents to troubleshoot system issues effectively. Support field service operations by performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on mechanical equipment. Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to test electrical circuits and ensure proper equipment functioning. Develop skills in welding, equipment repair, and property maintenance tasks necessary for HVAC/R systems. Follow safety protocols diligently while working with refrigerants like ammonia and handling equipment such as pumps, valves, and compressors. Qualifications Basic understanding of construction principles and mechanical systems is preferred. Prior service technician or field service experience is a plus but not required; eagerness to learn is essential. Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design concepts, and plumbing systems will be advantageous. Knowledge of refrigeration processes, air conditioning systems, and boiler operation is desirable. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate tools such as welders and ohmmeters confidently. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience driving vehicles is beneficial.
