Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily asphalt paving and construction operations in the field. This position ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to company quality standards and customer specifications. The Foreman leads crew members, coordinates equipment and materials, and serves as the primary point of contact between field personnel and project management.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct and supervise asphalt paving crews on commercial, municipal, highway, and site development projects.
- Plan and coordinate daily work activities to meet production goals and project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
- Conduct daily jobsite safety meetings and inspections.
- Monitor asphalt placement, grading, compaction, and finishing operations to ensure quality workmanship.
- Coordinate equipment, materials, subcontractors, and labor resources.
- Read and interpret project plans, specifications, blueprints, and grade stakes.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, inspectors, customers, and crew members.
- Inspect equipment and ensure proper maintenance and safe operation.
- Track labor hours, equipment utilization, material quantities, and daily production reports.
- Identify and resolve jobsite issues to minimize delays and maintain productivity.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members.
- Ensure projects meet company quality standards and customer expectations.
- Assist with scheduling and workforce planning as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of asphalt paving experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or crew leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt paving, grading, compaction, and road construction practices.
- Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and occasional weekend
