Desired Qualifications:
Active Registered Respiratory Therapist license BLS and ACLS certifications required Experience with ventilatory equipment (invasive and non-invasive) Proficiency with patient assessment and treatment plan development Competence in EKG, pulmonary function studies, chest physiotherapy, and tracheostomy care Strong communication skills and ability to educate patients and families
Schedule/Hours:
Travel assignment—flexible scheduling discussed during the hiring process
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver intensive respiratory care and facilitate patient transport safely Evaluate patient conditions and recommend evidence-based treatment plans Explain tests, equipment, and procedures to patients and families, including discharge education Administer a full range of therapies (medication, oxygenation, ventilation, nebulization) Perform diagnostic testing (12-lead EKG, oximetry, capnography, pulmonary function) Support advanced procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care Ensure meticulous documentation and effective shift-to-shift handoffs Maintain respiratory therapy records, charging accuracy, and adherence to policy Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and provide exceptional patient-centered care
