Duties and Responsibilities Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required. Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment. Follow blueprints and building plans. High quality work installing structures and fixtures such as windows and molding. Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials with high precision. Construct building frameworks, including wall studs, floor joists, and doorframes. Assemble and fasten materials to make framework or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue. Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, and other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, and power tools. Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level. Finish surfaces of woodwork or wallboard, using paint, hand tools, and paneling. Work with and/or remove hazardous material. Perform minor plumbing, tiling, and HVAC. Desired Skills, Qualifications & Experience High School Diploma 10 years of carpentry experience. Working Conditions Able to work a flexible work schedule with varying days and hours, including rare call-ins. Able to work outdoors in all seasons and work at heights. Physical requirements Able climb ladders and stairs and lift up to 100lbs While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; hear and speak; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
