Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and execute a wide range of carpentry projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. As a Lead Carpenter, you will coordinate with project managers, supervise crew members, and interpret detailed construction plans to deliver exceptional results on time and within scope. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise in various construction disciplines while leading by example in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate carpentry activities across multiple projects, including framing, trim carpentry, drywall installation, siding, roofing, and restoration work. Read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise execution of construction plans. Supervise and mentor crew members, assigning tasks efficiently while maintaining a safe work environment. Oversee metal building erection, concrete forming, rebar installation, concrete finishing, masonry work, plastering, stucco application, and metal stud framing. Operate power tools and heavy equipment safely and effectively to complete tasks such as framing, roofing, or siding installation. Ensure all work meets quality standards by performing dimensional measurements with tape measures and other hand tools. Collaborate with project managers to plan daily activities, manage materials inventory, and adhere to project timelines. Skills Extensive experience in construction site management with a strong background in carpentry disciplines including frame carpentry and trim work. Proficiency in reading construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and interpreting technical drawings accurately. Skilled in metal building erection, concrete forming techniques, rebar installation, concrete finishing, masonry techniques, welding practices, drywall installation, siding application, roofing systems, plastering and stucco work. Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment safely while performing heavy lifting tasks as needed. Strong knowledge of schematics for electrical or plumbing systems related to construction projects. Excellent hand tools proficiency along with basic math skills for precise measurements and calculations. Experience with construction management principles including scheduling, safety protocols, and team supervision. Familiarity with working on diverse projects such as remodeling or restoration efforts across various environments.
