Job Description
Carpenter / Deck Builder Johnson Building Company is looking for a reliable, motivated carpenter to join our growing team. We specialize in high-quality custom decks, screened porches, covered outdoor living spaces, and residential remodeling throughout the Upstate of South Carolina. Responsibilities Frame and build wood and composite decks Install decking, railings, stairs, and trim Assist with covered porches, pergolas, and outdoor living projects Read plans and work with attention to detail Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site Work efficiently as part of a team Qualifications Carpentry or construction experience preferred (2+ years ideal) Ability to use common hand and power tools Dependable transportation and a valid driver's license Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather Experience with Trex or other composite decking is a plus What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Full-time, steady work Opportunities for advancement A team that takes pride in quality craftsmanship Work on high-end outdoor living projects rather than production construction .
