This role is responsible for ensuring all crane, rigging, and precast panel/component installation activities are performed safely and in full compliance with OSHA regulations, site-specific safety plans, and manufacturer erection procedures. The ideal candidate has hands-on precast experience and understands the unique hazards of tilt-up/precast erection combined with the scale and schedule demands of data center construction. Reports To Project Manager / General Superintendent Key Responsibilities Site Safety Oversight Conduct daily site safety walks focused on precast erection sequencing, crane operations, and rigging setups Enforce compliance with OSHA as applicable to precast operations Ensure exclusion zones are maintained during picks and panel-setting operations Oversee fall protection compliance for workers on elevated precast surfaces, ledger beams, and double tees Crane & Rigging Safety Review daily lift plans and critical lift plans with the crane operator, rigger, and erection foreman Confirm rigging hardware (shackles, chokers, spreader bars, lifting inserts) is rated and inspected before use Verify signal person and rigger qualifications Monitor ground conditions, crane pad/mat setup, and outrigger placement Documentation & Compliance Develop and maintain JHAs (Job Hazard Analyses) for all precast-related tasks, including panel lifting, temporary bracing, and connection work; review and update JHAs as site conditions or work sequences change Lead and document daily/weekly toolbox talks, pre-task planning meetings, and weekly safety meetings Track and report near-misses, first aid cases, and OSHA recordable incidents; complete incident investigation reports Maintain crane inspection logs, rigging inspection logs, and daily safety inspection logs Maintain OSHA-required recordkeeping (OSHA 300/300A logs) and support annual submissions Ensure subcontractor safety plans, insurance certificates, and worker certifications are current and on file Maintain PPE compliance documentation, including hard hat, eye/face protection, hearing protection, high-visibility apparel, fall protection equipment inspections, and glove/hand protection requirements specific to precast handling Conduct and document routine PPE inspections and enforce corrective action for non-compliance Maintain training records for all site personnel (OSHA 10/30, equipment-specific certifications, orientation sign-offs) Maintain emergency action plan documentation, including evacuation routes, muster points, and emergency contact postings PPE Requirements & Enforcement Ensure all personnel on site wear required PPE at all times, including hard hats, safety glasses, high-visibility vests/clothing, steel-toe boots, and gloves Enforce fall protection PPE (harnesses, lanyards, anchor points) for any work at height, including precast panel-top work Train new hires on proper PPE use during site orientation Training & Culture Onboard new workers and subcontractors on site-specific hazards, especially precast panel handling and crane operations Promote a proactive safety culture on a crew that may be smaller and more tight-knit than on large corporate job sites Have authority to stop work when unsafe conditions are observed, with clear communication back to leadership

Qualifications Required:

5+ years of construction safety experience, with direct experience on precast concrete or tilt-up projects OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (OSHA 500/510 a plus) Experience with crane lift plans, rigging inspections, and erection sequencing Strong communication skills — able to work directly with crews, subcontractors, and ownership in a smaller company environment Valid driver's license; able to pass site-required background checks (common for data center clients)

Preferred:

First Aid/CPR certification Rigger/Signal Person certification Experience working on data center or mission-critical facility projects Familiarity with client-specific safety audit programs (data center owners often require this) PCI (Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute) safety training or equivalent Work Environment Active outdoor construction site with heavy equipment, crane operations, and material handling Exposure to weather conditions, heights, and heavy machinery Standard construction schedule with potential for early starts during precast erection windows Physical Requirements Ability to walk uneven terrain, climb ladders, and access elevated work areas Ability to wear all required PPE for extended periods Ability to lift up to 30 lbs as needed Per Diem Per Diem is provided to those who qualify

Pay:

$55.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
