Job Description

Precast Concrete Production Technician Starting Pay:
$20-$23 per hour, based on experience Please Read Before Applying This is a strenuous, hands-on production position in a non-climate-controlled precast concrete plant. The work is similar to construction performed indoors. Employees work in summer heat and winter cold and are exposed to concrete dust, dirt, noise, wet conditions, and heavy equipment. This is not light manufacturing, warehouse work, or a climate-controlled production position . The job requires sustained physical effort throughout an eight-hour shift. New employees typically begin with core production responsibilities and can progress into more advanced precast concrete skills as they demonstrate reliability, safety, quality, and proficiency. Position Summary The Precast Concrete Production Technician helps manufacture precast concrete products by preparing and stripping forms, placing rebar, pouring and finishing concrete, cleaning equipment, and performing other physically demanding production duties. Employees must be dependable, safety-conscious, willing to learn, and comfortable performing repetitive physical work as part of a team. Pay and Schedule Starting pay of $20-$21 per hour , based on relevant experience Higher starting pay may be considered for candidates with demonstrated concrete, formwork, finishing, blueprint-reading, or heavy-construction experience Compensation and performance reviewed after 90 days Full-time, Monday through Friday Eight-hour shifts Overtime may be required based on production needs A compensation adjustment after 90 days is based on successful training, attendance, safety, quality, productivity, and overall performance; it is not automatic. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up, strip, clean, and prepare concrete forms Carry, assemble, align, and secure Symons panels and other forming systems Measure and mark work areas according to drawings and production specifications Bolt, nail, brace, align, square, level, and block forms Cut, bend, tie, carry, and position rebar Prepare forms and surfaces before concrete is poured Pour, vibrate, finish, and inspect concrete Strip completed products from forms Clean forms, tools, equipment, and production areas Erect and disassemble braces, shoring, and temporary structures Safely operate hand tools and power tools Operate an overhead crane after training and authorization Read and follow measurements, sketches, shop drawings, and construction plans Maintain required quality and accuracy standards Follow all company safety procedures and supervisor instructions Adapt to different assignments as production needs change Properly store equipment and materials at the end of the shift Perform other production-related duties as assigned Some assignments may involve performing the same physically demanding production task for an extended portion of the shift. Required Qualifications Ability and willingness to perform sustained heavy physical labor Ability to work in summer heat and winter cold Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to understand and follow instructions Ability to work safely around concrete, forms, cranes, tools, and heavy equipment Ability to work independently and cooperatively with a team Ability to perform basic arithmetic, measuring, and counting Ability to maintain accuracy while meeting production expectations Willingness to learn multiple areas of precast concrete production Strong work ethic and reliable employment history Must be at least 18 years old Employment is contingent upon successful completion of applicable pre-employment requirements. Preferred Experience Experience in one or more of the following is preferred but not required: Concrete production or finishing Construction Form carpentry or woodworking Masonry Rebar fabrication or placement Heavy manufacturing Farming, landscaping, roofing, or other physically demanding work Reading blueprints, shop drawings, or construction plans Overhead-crane operation We are willing to train a dependable person who has demonstrated the ability to perform demanding physical work and wants to learn. Physical Requirements Employees must be able to: Stand and walk for most of an eight-hour shift Frequently lift and carry materials weighing 40-60 pounds Occasionally lift and carry up to 80 pounds Push or pull loads weighing approximately 50 pounds Bend, kneel, reach, climb, twist, push, and pull repeatedly Climb ladders and maintain balance Use hand and power tools throughout the shift Perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods Work safely in hot, cold, dusty, noisy, dirty, and occasionally wet conditions Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off 401(k) 401(k) matching Hiring Process Qualified applicants will complete a phone screen, in-person interview, and plant tour.
