Job Description
We are hiring an experienced Concrete Batch Plant Foreman to oversee daily operations at one of our concrete batch plants supporting heavy civil and large capital projects out of Columbus, Texas. This is a working leadership role for someone who can run a plant, keep mix on spec, keep trucks moving, and keep the plant safe, maintained, and producing. The Role You will own day-to-day batch plant operations: production, quality, inventory, maintenance, safety, and crew leadership. You will coordinate closely with paving/field crews, dispatch, QC, and suppliers so the jobsite gets the right mix, at the right time, in the right quantity. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate batch plant operators, loader operators, and plant support personnel Oversee batching and loading to approved mix designs and project specifications Plan daily production to match paving and placement schedules Monitor and adjust batch weights, moisture, and admixture dosages as needed Maintain cement, fly ash, aggregate, water, and admixture inventories; order materials before they run short Perform and direct preventive maintenance, housekeeping, and basic repairs on Aztec plant equipment Keep accurate batch tickets, production logs, inventory records, and daily reports Enforce plant safety, environmental, and dust-control requirements Coordinate with field superintendents, QC, ready-mix drivers, and inspectors Train plant personnel on safe operation, batching procedures, and quality checks Support plant setup, relocation, and commissioning when required Required Qualifications At least 5 years overseeing concrete batch plant operations Hands-on experience leading plant crews, not only operating the console Strong knowledge of concrete batching, mix designs and quality control Ability to keep a plant producing under paving-schedule pressure Mechanical aptitude for plant troubleshooting and routine maintenance Valid driver's license High school diploma or GED Ability to work early mornings, extended hours, nights, weekends, and weather-driven schedules as projects require Preferred Qualifications Direct experience operating and supervising a concrete batch plant Heavy civil, highway, or large capital project plant experience Experience with portable/mobile plant setup and teardown Command Alkon or similar computerized batching systems Familiarity with Texas environmental / air-quality requirements for batch plants What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience, overtime, benefits package, and a stable base in Columbus, Texas supporting heavy civil work.
