Concrete Paving Foreman — Heavy Civil Construction
Job Description
We are hiring an experienced Concrete Paving Foreman to lead crews on roadways, highways, and large capital infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on field leadership role for someone who knows slipform and fixed-form paving, can run a productive crew, and can deliver work that meets project specifications. The Role You will supervise daily concrete paving operations from grade check through placement, finishing, jointing, and curing. You will own crew performance, quality, safety, production, and coordination with inspectors, ready-mix, and equipment. Responsibilities Lead and schedule paving crews; assign work, set daily production goals, and hold the team to quality and safety standards Oversee slipform and/or fixed-form paving, including grade, forms, steel, equipment setup, placement, finishing, and curing Read and implement plans, specs, and typical sections in the field Inspect grade, forms, and reinforcement before pours; stop work that will not meet spec Coordinate concrete deliveries, equipment, traffic control, and other trades Track quantities, labor hours, cost codes, and daily production; complete accurate daily reports Conduct toolbox talks, enforce site safety plans, and maintain a clean, organized jobsite Work with the superintendent and project team to resolve field issues, schedule conflicts, and quality problems Mentor crew members and help develop future leads and operators Required Qualifications At least 5 years of experience in road paving or large capital / heavy civil projects Proven experience as a concrete paving foreman, lead, or equivalent field supervisor Strong knowledge of concrete paving methods, finishing, jointing, curing, and DOT-quality workmanship Ability to read drawings, specs, and grade information and execute them in the field Experience supervising crews and coordinating equipment and material on active jobsites Valid driver's license High school diploma or GED Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and variable weather as project schedules require Preferred Qualifications Slipform paving experience (GOMACO or similar) State DOT, municipal, FAA, or other large public-works paving experience Knowledge of stringless / 3D paving systems OSHA 10/30, first aid/CPR, or other safety certifications Experience with daily reporting tools Ability to travel or relocate between project sites as needed What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience, overtime, health benefits, retirement plan, paid time off, and the chance to run meaningful heavy civil work with a crew that takes pride in the finished pavement.
