We are seeking a highly responsible and reliable excavation laborer with operator experience in a wide variety of excavation equipment (i.e. skid steers, excavators, etc.). Our ideal candidate is someone wanting to advance their skill set in multiple pieces of machinery as well one who is willing to learn, or already has the knowledge to read grade sticks, install water and sewer utilities, and preform rough grading as needed. You must have dependable personal transportation and have a desire to be part of a team where growth is encouraged and rewarded. Responsibilities Operate a shovel as well as have some experience with excavation equipment. Perform digging, grading, and utility installation operations in accordance with project specifications. Have a strong ability, or willingness to learn, how to read grade sticks, set grades, and understand plans as it relates to excavation scopes. Understanding that this position requires an even mix of being both inside a machine as well as outside a machine when checking grades or laying utilities. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Collaborate with site supervisors and other operators to coordinate work activities and ensure project timelines are met. Follow all safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery on-site. Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any issues or concerns to management. Experience Moderate experience in heavy equipment operation, specifically with excavators, loaders, and skid steers. Familiarity with residential excavation including digging foundations and the installation of utilities such as water, sewer, and storm is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Pride in your work is paramount to your success. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing job site conditions.
