For nearly four decades, Sunrise Pool Builders has specialized in the construction and renovation of commercial swimming pools and aquatic facilities throughout the Midwest. This is a hands-on construction position for someone who enjoys working in the field, takes pride in quality workmanship, and wants to develop skills in a specialized area of commercial construction. Previous pool construction experience is not required. We will teach the right person commercial pool construction, but candidates should have at least 2-3 years of previous construction experience and be comfortable working on active construction sites. What You'll Do As part of our field construction crew, you will help build and renovate commercial swimming pools and aquatic facilities. Work varies throughout the different stages of each project and may include: Concrete forming, pouring, demolition, and related concrete work PVC plumbing, piping, and installation Excavation, grading, compacting, and site preparation Carpentry, layout, measuring, and general construction Using hand and power tools Material handling and jobsite organization Assisting experienced crew members with specialized commercial pool construction Maintaining a clean and safe jobsite Working with the crew to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to Sunrise quality standards What We're Looking For Qualified candidates should have: Minimum 2-3 years of construction experience Experience in concrete, plumbing/piping, excavation/site work, carpentry, commercial construction, or another related construction trade Ability to safely use common hand and power tools Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to regularly lift and carry at least 50 lbs. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, dig, and perform physical construction work throughout the workday Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, and changing weather conditions Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the region Ability to meet Sunrise Pool Builders' pre-employment requirements Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Willingness to learn and work as part of a team Commercial pool construction experience is not required . We are willing to teach pool construction to someone who already has a solid construction foundation and wants to learn. Travel & Schedule This position requires regular regional travel and overnight stays . Our crews are typically home most weekends. Recently, crews have generally traveled to the jobsite on Monday and returned home Thursday or Friday, although schedules vary depending on project requirements. Typical workweeks are approximately 45-55 hours , with overtime opportunities.
