Messer Construction is seeking an Ironworker to help build complex commercial, healthcare, and institutional projects with an unwavering focus on safety and quality. You will place, connect, and secure structural and reinforcing steel; interpret blueprints and detail drawings; rig and signal lifts; and work at heights using proper fall protection. You'll collaborate with field leaders and trades, follow all Messer safety procedures, and help deliver projects on time. Responsibilities Erect and install structural steel members, decking, and connections per plans and specifications Install, tie, and place reinforcing steel (rebar) for concrete structures and slabs Read and interpret blueprints, detail drawings, and layout information to perform accurate installation Rig, signal, and assist with crane and hoisting operations following safety and load-handling standards Perform bolting, welding, and cutting tasks as required to complete steel connections Work safely at heights using fall protection, ladders, lifts, and scaffolding according to OSHA and company rules Inspect tools, equipment, and work areas, reporting hazards and contributing to jobsite safety meetings Coordinate daily with foremen, superintendents, and other trades to maintain schedule and quality Maintain accurate counts of materials, verify deliveries, and help prevent waste or rework Participate in Messer training, mentorship, and continuous improvement initiatives to support career growth Required Skills Structural steel erection Reinforcing steel (rebar) installation Rigging and signaling Reading blueprints and shop drawings Welding and oxy-fuel cutting Bolting and connecting steel members Layout and measurement tools use Fall protection and scaffolding use Aerial lift and crane signaling Construction site safety compliance
