Full Job Description Job Summary:
Must be able to pass a background and driving record check. We are seeking a skilled Welder Helper to join our team. As a Welder Helper, you will assist the welders in various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our welding projects. This is a hands-on role that requires technical knowledge and the ability to work with various tools and equipment.Duties:
- Assist welders in setting up welding equipment and tools
- Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, cutting, and shaping as necessary
- Hold or position materials for welders during the welding process
- Operate hand and power tools such as grinders, saws, and drills
- Perform basic welding tasks under the guidance of experienced welders
- Inspect welded surfaces for defects and report any issues to the supervisor
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of welding techniques and processes
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in welding projects
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects as required
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a team environment
Skills:
- Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools
- Knowledge of stick welding techniques and procedures
- Experience operating forklifts or willingness to learn
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Familiarity with machining processes for metal fabrication
