The Seasonal Construction Laborer position will work under the direction of the Maintenance Superintendent working on construction and maintenance project operating hand tools and other equipment as needed. Duties require physical strength in both upper & lower body & often require long hours of labor and equipment operations that incorporate back and neck movement in looking forward and backward when operating equipment in a tight location & moving dirt or gravel.
Essential Functions:
Seasonal Maintenance Workers responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Use of a shovel: dirt work Trimming trees, Metal working and wood working Pipe laying Special miscellaneous projects Working Conditions and Physical Demands Working primarily outside Fieldwork requires walking long distances across sloped, uneven terrain. Work could be in inclement weather, including exposure to the sun in 100+-degree weather and below-freezing temperatures. Frequent repetitive movements, especially with hands, fingers, and wrists, to grasp, turn, and use tools. Regular bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. This position may require crawling over, under, and into small spaces. Often carry and use equipment and supplies weighing 50 lbs. or more. Experience and Qualifications Must be (18) years of age. Have a valid Driver's License or reliable form of transportation. Preference given to candidates with prior construction experience
