Job Description

  • Purpose:
  • The Senior Site Manager provides senior-level field and operational leadership for environmental remediation, monitoring, and related projects throughout Alaska.

This position is responsible for coordinating field operations, personnel, subcontractors, equipment, supplies, and site logistics to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The Senior Site Manager serves as a key field representative and works closely with project managers, clients, technical teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate project activities and resolve field challenges. This position requires extensive experience supporting projects in Alaska, including the mobilization of personnel, equipment, and supplies to remote locations.

  • Essential Functions:
  • + Provide senior-level leadership and oversight for environmental remediation, monitoring, construction, and related field activities.

+ Plan, supervise, and execute environmental remediation, monitoring, and other field efforts in accordance with project requirements.

+ Lead field mobilization and demobilization activities, including coordination of personnel, subcontractors, equipment, materials, supplies, transportation, and other logistical requirements.

+ Coordinate mobilization of equipment and supplies to remote project locations throughout Alaska.

+ Lead technical activities, including preparation and review of work plans, reports, field documentation, and other client deliverables.

+ Lead the development, production, review, and delivery of technical documents in accordance with applicable quality standards and established project schedules.

+ Coordinate daily site operations and provide direction to field personnel and subcontractors to support safe and efficient project execution.

+ Conduct site inspections and monitor field activities to ensure work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, regulatory requirements, and established quality standards.

+ Support project managers with field planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and coordination of project activities.

+ Monitor field resources and project expenditures to support efficient use of personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractor resources.

+ Ensure field activities are performed in accordance with corporate, contractual, and project-specific health and safety requirements.

+ Prepare project progress documentation, including daily field records, weekly and monthly status reports, and other required project updates.

+ Coordinate and communicate with clients during field activities and serve as a senior on-site representative as required.

+ Collaborate with project managers, technical specialists, subject matter experts, and other project team members to address field conditions and achieve project objectives.

+ Apply knowledge of applicable state and federal environmental laws, regulations, standards, and guidance to field operations.

+ Exercise sound professional judgment, tact, discretion, and initiative when addressing field, logistical, and project-related challenges.

+ Support and mentor field personnel by providing technical guidance, training, and operational direction.

+ Travel to local, remote, and out-of-state project sites, conferences, and meetings as required.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Education:
  • + Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • + Twenty (20)+ years of experience performing construction-related work on federal and commercial projects in Alaska.

+ Extensive experience managing or supervising field operations, personnel, subcontractors, and project logistics.

+ Experience planning and executing environmental remediation, monitoring, construction, or related field activities.

+ Demonstrated experience mobilizing and demobilizing personnel, equipment, materials, and supplies, including to remote locations in Alaska.

+ In-depth knowledge of applicable state and federal environmental laws, regulations, standards, and guidance.

+ Knowledge of and experience working with federal clients.

+ Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and subject matter experts in a project environment.

+ Ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, discretion, and initiative.

+ Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, project teams, and other stakeholders.

+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

+ Ability to remain focused and effective in a dynamic field environment with competing priorities and deadlines.

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

+ Ability to travel to local, remote, and out-of-state project sites, conferences, and meetings as required.

+ Current 40-hour

HAZWOPER

certification or ability to complete required training within six months of hire. + Experience with projects in Alaska and working under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) programs is preferred.
