Full Job Description Construction Manager, Life Science Location:
San Francisco / South San Francisco, CA (on site) Join the Bay Area Life Science team of a leading national real estate advisory firm that serves as the owner's representative on complex, high stakes projects. Repeatedly named among the industry's top construction management firms by ENR, and built on roughly 30 years of practical experience, this firm gives its people real ownership, meaningful mentorship, and a seat at the table on projects that matter. The Role As Project Manager, you will interface directly with clients and project teams through the full cycle of strategic planning, design, and construction of new buildings, tenant improvement buildouts, and facilities assignments.
You will:
Manage projects that consistently meet or exceed client expectations and deadlines Review program aspects with the owner and confirm conformance with project goals Serve as liaison between the client and design and construction professionals Initiate and manage procurement of design, construction, and consultant services Draft, negotiate, and enforce contractual documents Direct and monitor budgets and schedules through web based project controls, and analyze their financial impact Oversee development of architectural and engineering drawings and bid documents Run project meetings, present status, and anticipate issues early Coordinate value engineering, authorize contracts and purchase orders, process progress draws, and manage closeout Represent the firm in networking and business development What You Bring 5+ years of development and project management experience (life science or pharmaceutical sector experience is highly valued) A Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Real Estate Finance, or a related field A proven ability to manage successful projects and build strong client relationships Working knowledge of project controls, construction documentation, and sequencing A self starter with high integrity, polished communication, strong emotional intelligence, and a collaborative mindset Why This Role A culture that respects work life balance Competitive salary and bonus Training, leadership development, and mentoring programs Full benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability, plus education reimbursement 401(k) with employer match The chance to build a career on life science work with a respected, high caliber client base
